PRIVATE MULTI-ENGINE LAND TRAINING (ADD ON)
Multi-Engine Land rated pilots will experience the remarkable improvement in aircraft performance capability along with an increase in speed, power, and rate of climb. Managing the complexity and workload of a multi-engine aircraft is both exhilarating and rewarding.
The multi-engine land rating is an “add-on” to an existing single-engine land private, commercial, or ATP certificate. For this rating, both VFR and IFR operations will be emphasized. There are no minimum time requirements for the multi-engine training prior to taking the check ride. There is no written exam, only an oral exam and practical check ride are required.
*Based on the FAA minimum flight training and Sierra’s estimated flight and ground instruction hours the following is the estimated cost:
Dual Flight Hours (PA-44) – 10 hours @ $425.00 per hour = $4,250.00
Simulator (with instructor) – 4 hours @ $160.00 per hour = $640.00
1 on 1 Ground School – 15 hours @ $85.00 per hour = $1,275.00.
Pre/Post – 7 hours @ $85.00 per hour = $595.00.
Application Fee - $150.00 (Non-refundable)
Scheduling/FAA records - $90.00
Total estimated flight and ground training cost: $7,000.00*
Other Fees:
FAA Check ride - $800.00 + aircraft
FAA Check ride Recheck - $600.00 + aircraft
** Each person’s ability and availability to fly vary. Any additional flight training cost, use of aircraft cost, or instructor training cost will be the responsibility of the student pilot.

Upon completion of your training and satisfactory check ride, you will hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate: Airplane Multi-Engine Land; however, will have the private in a single engine with instrument.
Prerequisites:
a. 250 hrs. PIC
b. 50 hours of cross-country PIC
c. Private Pilot License with Instrument Rating
